What a lovely blog! Came across it, as I am searching for a picture of a palma violets sweet box, which I’m sure I remember from my childhood in the 70s and 80s (UK). Now when I look up Palma violets sweets, they are just in a ugly plastic tube. Did I imagine they used to be in a pretty little box? (With a picture of a bunch of violets on the front.

I purchased “Violetta D’ Parma” in Bellagio Italy 2 years ago, The lovely atomizer bottle is now empty and the price online is triple what I paid, I love the scent on my bedding. There is a tiny pastille the size of a pea with a thin sugar shell and a liquid center in assorted flavors of rose, violet, and other flowers. It took me 40 years to track down this childhood favorite and it turns out to be made here in the U.S.. If you would like further info.,e-mail me. Melissa
